A gubernatorial aspirant of the National Conscience Party in Ogun State, Mr. Lanre Banjo, on Monday alleged that assassins attacked his Sagamu residence.
The aspirant, in an interview with journalists in Abeokuta, alleged that no fewer than 50 hoodlums invaded his Sagamu residence on Monday morning.
Banjo said the NCP members, who went to post his campaign posters along Ayepe Road, Sagamu had earlier in the day been attacked by the hoodlums.
He said, “They chased my supporters to my house before they broke my gate, destroyed glasses and other valuables in sight. I only managed to escape to the police station where I lodged the complaint and made statements.”
Commenting on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Olufemi Awoyale, said he received a distress call about the attack and had advised that the matter be reported at a police station.
