A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY TO BAIL NIGERIA OUT OF COMATOSE STATE!!

The Committee to Elect Ogbeni Lanre Banjo for Governor of Ogun State humbly requests the sacrifice of free and patriotic Nigerians and their friends worldwide to join in liberating our people from social decadence, squalor, nauseating ignorance, disease and poverty that are consuming our people. We urge those sincerely wishing Nigerians well to join us in preventing further destruction of the psyche and thinking faculty of Nigerians by the members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and their blind supporters worldwide.  The rigged-in PDP officials both at the Federal and State levels are spreading lawlessness, endemic corruption, stinking arrogance, state terrorism, disdainful violation and manipulation of the military-imposed Constitution of the land which they all swore to uphold.

General Olusegun Obasanjo who is now scheming to die in power while the rest of us die in penury is constantly watering all of these nefarious practices, which are trademarks of the PDP-led governments.  The danger is that Nigerians born in 1999 and thereafter would only know life as it is under General Obasanjo and would join if care is not taken, in making Nigeria even worse.  These products of Obasanjo’s misrule are waiting in line to be the next officials at the ward, local and state governments.  This is a time bomb waiting to explode!

Today, many state governments are under the management of well-known crooks, touts, gangsters, ritualists, murderers and vagabonds in power. It is also clear that the so called governors and legislators lack deep knowledge of democracy, government and federalism, thus conspiratorially following the footsteps of General Obasanjo in laying land mines and already ticking time bombs for all of us.  This is why this Committee is crying out aloud to all Nigerians, and their friends worldwide to seize this opportunity firmly to return home and make contributions to mankind starting from Ogun State.

The Committee wants to quash the old excuses for sitting on the proverbial fence by providing, immediate access to as many as may be willing and available for the drivers’ seat so that those who have been looking for the opportunity to get involved in reshaping the future of Nigeria would secure it through our Committee.

Accordingly, we invite experts in diverse professions and with various skills particularly in the under listed areas to join our team:

This Committee believes that we need all the helps we can get given the levels of degeneration General Obasanjo and his crews have brought Nigeria to.  Therefore talented individuals in any field not listed above should not hesitate to contact us.

For far too long, we have relied too much on other developing countries at our own peril.  It is now obvious that we need to take over the driver’s seat, guiding the bus to our desired destination. Other drivers will only drive us to their own desired destinations. We cannot continue to surrender our destiny to donors and benefactors who usually come in to inflict us with all sorts of diseases and then turn around to act as philanthropists, donating their medicines to us for clinical trials. Clearly, majority of the people running the affairs of Nigeria today cannot challenge these donors because they are either spies, cartels, moles or chattels installed or imposed on us by those whose interests are at variance with our own.

Today, a major problem in our nation is clearly a lack of public safety.  Insecurity is the end product of unemployment, under employment, lack of access to affordable quality education, health care, social services, and lack of opportunity for the citizenry for upward mobility. The people in power today, hate our people so much that they do not wish them upward mobility so that they would not be challenged and so as to be able to keep them in perpetual darkness. Suffice to say that Nigerian rulers have done a very good job in conditioning Nigerians to hate themselves.

Endemic breakdown in the family structure and values is not conducive to progress in any society, and this is pervasive in Nigeria of today. Husbands and wives alike migrate in droves to foreign countries just to be able to send money to their spouses back home, and Nigerian minors are dreaming not to serve their country but to run off to America or London because that is what they see their leaders do. This situation is calamitous and must be quickly arrested.

It is an irony and a veritable sign of visionless leadership that the president is building a private university called Bell University in Abeokuta and the vice president, has established his own American University in Adamawa State, when several Nigerians are dropping out of secondary schools because education in Nigeria is not bringing hope to them.  They have ruined all other public tertiary educational institutions by refusing to fund them.  The thinking is that the market for their expensive alternatives is assured.  Thus, certain affluent parents would be forced to send their children to Obasanjo’s Bell or Atiku’s American University. We wonder how they think Nigerians who cannot afford to attend poorly funded public Universities would be able to afford their Universities.  This showcases the shallow thinking of those running the affairs of our country, both at the State and Federal levels.

Let us beam our searchlight on Ogun State as a paradigm of what is happening in the PDP-led States.  A neophyte and a crook who would go to any length, including assassination of political opponents, to maintain his might, is governing Ogun State. Otunba Gbenga Daniel through his private company, charged the people of Ogun State a staggering sum of Seven hundred and fifty million Naira (N750m) for a three-level elevator installed at Olumo Rock.  This was done without a bidding process and without regard to what the three quarters of a billion Naira could do to rehabilitate the dilapidated infrastructure in the State. Further, this money was spent in a State where there is no good hospital; no water, no electricity, and people in the state would have to go to Lagos to purchase their basic needs, including ordinary automobile part that costs N500. After denunciation of that criminal act by Ogbeni Lanre Banjo, the shamelessly rigged-in governor, had the audacity to say that he is an elevator man, and that he knew no other business than elevators. In a civilized country where the rule of law is respected, this man should be cooling his feet in a gulag. Yet, we see some harebrained Nigerian political jobbers abroad awarding and praising this crook who continues to buy political patronage of the Obas, the Press, and political prostitutes both abroad and at home.  We wonder why those glorified PhDs abroad and other visionless Nigerians praising Daniel would not move from the United States or Europe to Ogun State to enjoy the “new Ogun State”. We also wonder, if Daniel is doing so well, why is Ogun State not good enough for his seven year-old son to live and obtain education and his wife had to take huge sum of pound sterling to pay for his education in London?

It is understandable why the impostor in Ogun State has joined the third term campaign train.  It is to prevent Aso Rock from sending the bull dog tagged EFCC after him. Like many of his counterparts, our Otunba has too many things to hide. White elephant projects, which provide easy avenue to looted funds, are Daniel’s focus, while the fundamental needs of the citizenry that are being taken for granted in Europe and America, are deliberately ignored. This simple enough strategy is to keep Nigerians living in Ogun State in penury and compel them to accept the pittance, which they plan to offer them for their votes in the next elections.

Governor Ladoja of Oyo state was adjudged guilty of establishing a road maintenance agency without the approval of the state legislators. But when Gbenga Daniel did exactly the same thing in Ogun state in 2004 and Ogbeni Banjo pointed it out, none of the Ogun State legislators saw any wrongdoing.

Nigerians and all friends of Nigeria need to wake up to the challenges.  The road map for the solution to our mammoth problems must come from both within, and without and must be based on the terms emanating from our national interests.  We therefore urge you to join the committee to contribute to our programs in your various fields, and also to be ready for the implementation phase.

The primary aim of your membership in the Committee is to join hands together in further developing the plans and programmes of the candidate to quicken results for the electorates, and to bring comfort to the inhabitants of the state as soon as victory is achieved.  This would challenge other states to follow suit and compel Nigeria to contribute to the contentment of the world.

A situation where all our rulers are from the PDP confirmed by its own Chairman as a nest of killers and barefaced looters is ominous for all of us. The PDP will continue to destroy our lives if we continue to fold our arms, watch and do nothing. Besides, we would have been accomplices in their evil deeds.  This is the basis for this clarion call for all hands to be on deck to develop an enviable program for the nation, starting from Ogun State

Our programs will include establishing secondary industries and increasing the growth rate of our exports after we would have been able to bring comfort to our people at home.  We want to provide qualitative education for our greatest and most important resources, our children and grandchildren.

We want to be quick to encourage those who have lost a whole generation to foreign land to bring their children home before another generation is lost. We want to make Ogun State so great that the next daughter of Olusegun Obasanjo wedding a white man would do it in Ogun State without being ashamed of her underdeveloped fatherland.  It may sound like a tall order, but it is a mountain, which can and must be moved, because we see no other palatable alternatives.

We would encourage the raising and disciplining of our children by politically and socially responsible parents. We cannot afford to forget that public order, personal security, economic and social progress and prosperity are not the natural order of things; they depend on ceaseless efforts and attention from an honest and effective government that only the people must elect, support and become a necessary part of. We therefore encourage our people to be vehicles and energizers for the continuous process of rethinking our emergence from this dilemma and nightmare facing our nation.

We need to get involved and give a little bit from our skills and professions Whichever country you reside today, some people died to make that country better. It is an unpardonable sin to enjoy comfort emanating from the blood and sacrificial sweat of others while you refuse to contribute your quota to develop your own country. This is an opportunity to make your contribution to a state in your country and to help pilot our ship of state to a safe harbor before Obasanjo and his fellow undemocratic administrators wreck the ship on a rock.

Nigerians usually express different emotions concerning our beloved country. This ranges from anger to frustration, helplessness to hopelessness and then renewed hope! For the multitude privileged to experience life in Diaspora, we acknowledge that the significant difference between our homeland and the developed countries is mainly LEADERSHIP. This is a seldom-found opportunity to remove the bad leadership in Nigeria, and replace it with educated, freethinking, and visionary leaders whose job is to work for the people and not make people work for them. It is a clarion call on all men of goodwill and conscience to rally together and effect a positive change to the bad leadership in Nigeria.

We declare that under the administration of Ogbeni Lanre Banjo, appointed positions would go to the best regardless of nationality, ethnic origin or religious affiliation. Our people are dying, social fabrics are decaying, infrastructure is collapsing, and their mentality is constantly being made skewed. Under this outrageous situation, anyone that can help, whether green, black, blue or white does not matter to us.  What matters to us is to make a State a model for others to follow.
